This part of DZ/T 0275 specifies the identification content, procedures, rock feature description and naming requirements for rock specimens and thin sections under a polarizing microscope. This section applies to the identification of rock specimens and thin sections in regional geological surveys, mineral exploration, engineering surveys and mineral utilization. This section does not apply to the identification of coal rock, salt rock and oil rock specimens.
