Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements, test methods and inspection rules for traction batteries for electric vehicles (hereinafter referred to as batteries). This standard is applicable to lithium-ion batteries and metal hydride nickel battery cells and modules loaded on electric vehicles, and other types of batteries are implemented by reference.
