This standard specifies only the special performance requirements for converter transformers. Therefore, the general requirements for transformers should refer to the provisions of GB1094 and JB2530 and IEC transformer standards. Typically, rectifying transformers operate with non-sinusoidal current waveforms. In the case of single-shot connection, the current of each valve side winding contains a DC component, so special attention should be paid to the design and test. In some cases, external short circuits and component failures may cause abnormal stress, requiring special design. For some types of transformers, the voltage waveform during normal operation is not sinusoidal. At this time, the iron loss of its equipment can be determined by applying a sinusoidal voltage, and the half-cycle arithmetic mean value and fundamental frequency of the sinusoidal voltage should be the same as the working voltage.
