Scope: This standard specifies the potentiometric titration method for the determination of barium in wastewater. This standard is applicable to the determination of soluble barium in industrial wastewater of chemical industry, machinery manufacturing, pigment and other industries. The measuring range of this method is 47.1～1180μg, and the lowest detection limit is 28μg. When the content of strontium ions exceeds 2 times of that of barium, and when the content of calcium ions exceeds 150 times of that of barium, it will interfere with the measurement and make the terminal potential jump not obvious. When the content of lithium, potassium, and ammonium ions exceeds 50 times that of barium, interference will occur.
