- This standard specifies the determination method for the total content of rare earth elements in a single rare earth metal and the total content of oxidized rare earth elements in its compounds (oxides, hydroxides, fluorides, chlorides). This standard applies to the determination of the total content of rare earth elements in a single rare earth metal and the total content of rare earth oxides in its compounds (oxides, hydroxides, fluorides, chlorides). The measurement range is shown in Table 1. This standard does not apply to the total content of rare earth elements in a single rare earth metal and its compounds (oxides, hydroxides, fluorides, chlorides) where the relative purity of a single rare earth is <99.5%, and the content of other impurity elements is >0.5%.
