- This standard specifies the detailed principles for lake and reservoir sampling scheme design, sampling techniques, sample storage and handling. This standard does not include sampling for microbiological testing. This standard applies to lakes and reservoirs. Its main purposes are as follows: Water quality characteristic detection Long-term quality detection of water body. It is used to investigate and study the water quality status and development trend of lakes and reservoirs. Water quality control testing conducts long-term water quality testing at one or several designated sampling points in the water body. Detection of special conditions Identification and measurement of pollution when biological species or populations are disturbed, dead or other abnormal phenomena (blooms, colors, etc.) appear.
