EN ISO 4499-3:2016 Hardmetals - Metallographic determination of microstructure - Part 3: Measurement of microstructural features in Ti (C@ N) and WC/cubic carbide based hardmetals
This part of ISO 4499 provides guidelines for the measurement of microstructural characteristics in Ti(C, N)-based cemented carbides and WC/Co cemented carbides additionally containing cubic carbides by metallographic techniques using only light or electron microscopy. It is intended for sintered cemented carbides (also called cemented carbides or cermets), which mainly contain inorganic carbides and nitrides as a hard phase. It is also intended for measuring the phase size and its distribution using the line cut method.
