This part of ISO 4892 specifies procedures for exposing test specimens to UV fluorescent lamp radiation, heat and water in an apparatus to replicate the weathering effects that occur when materials are exposed to global radiation or global radiation behind window glass in real end-use environments are. The test specimens are exposed to UV fluorescent lamp radiation under controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and/or wetting). To meet all requirements for testing different materials, different types of UV fluorescent lamps can be used. The preparation of the test specimens and the evaluation of the results are covered in other International Standards intended for specific materials. General guidance is given in ISO 4892-1. NOTE The exposure of paints, varnishes and other coating materials to UV fluorescent lamp radiation is described in ISO 11507.
