This part of ISO 22975 specifies terms and test methods for the durability and performance of heat pipes for solar thermal applications. This part of ISO 22975 is applicable to heat pipes intended for use with vacuum tubes, including glass-to-metal junction vacuum tubes and double-glass vacuum tubes, and with plate collectors. This part of ISO 22975 provides test methods for determining the resistance of the heat pipe, including high temperature resistance and frost resistance. In addition, this part of ISO 22975 provides test methods for measuring the performance of the heat pipe, including the initial temperature, the uniformity of temperature distribution and the heat transfer performance of the heat pipe. This part of ISO 22975 is applicable only to gravity operated heat pipes.
