This document specifies the method for determining the total water content of a test sample of biogenic solid fuels by drying in an oven and is used when the highest precision is not required, e.g. B. for routine production control in the company. The procedure specified in ISO 18134 (all parts) applies to all biogenic solid fuels. The water content of biogenic solid fuels (as delivered) is always stated based on the total mass of the test sample (wet mass reference basis). NOTE The term water content can be misleading when used in the context of biomass materials because untreated biomass often contains variable amounts of volatile compounds (extractants) which can evaporate during oven drying when determining water content.
