EN ISO 18674-2:2016 Geotechnical investigation and testing - Geotechnical monitoring by field instrumentation - Part 2: Measurement of displacements along a line: Extensometers
This document applies to geotechnical displacement measurements along a measurement line using extensometers. The general rules for metrological monitoring of the subsoil, structures interacting with the subsoil, geotechnical fillings and geotechnical construction works are given in ISO 18674-1. In conjunction with ISO 18674-3, this document allows the determination of displacements acting in any direction. This document applies to:
——the metrological monitoring of loose rock, fill and hard rock;
——the review of geotechnical designs related to the observation method;
——the derivation of key geotechnical parameters (e.g. from results of pile test loads or test tunnels);
——assessing the stability of geotechnical objects before, during and after construction (e.g. stability on natural slopes, embankment cuts, fills, excavation pit walls, foundations, dams, landfills, tunnels).
