This document specifies techniques for detecting irregularities in the surface of ferromagnetic welds, including the heat affected zones, by magnetic particle testing. These techniques are suitable for most welding processes and connection types. Variations of these basic techniques with higher or lower test sensitivity are described in Appendix A. This document does not set admissibility limits for the advertisements. Further information regarding acceptance limits for displays can be found in ISO 23278 or in product or application standards.
