This part of ISO 1043 provides uniform code letters for plasticizer components from which the abbreviations for plasticizers can be derived. It generally only contains the abbreviations that are in common use. The purpose of this part of ISO 1043 is to prevent the occurrence of more than one abbreviation for a given plasticizer. The code letters are primarily intended to provide suitable abbreviations from which the abbreviations for the chemical names in publications and other documents can be composed.
