Scope
This International Standard describes a method for the determination of palladium in palladium jewelry alloys, preferably in the range of fineness as specified in ISO 9202. The determination is carried out using optical emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES, en inductive coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry). The recommended palladium concentration of the alloys is between 500 and 950 palladium. NOTE This procedure can also be used to analyze other palladium concentrations. This method is intended as a recommended method for determining purity in alloys as specified in ISO 9202.
