- This standard specifies the method for determining the maturity of cotton fibers using a polarizing maturity meter. This standard is applicable to the fiber test maturity coefficient, maturity ratio, and percentage of mature fiber of fine-staple cotton, long-staple cotton, and cotton yarns and threads that have not been chemically treated.
