Scope
Standard Practice for Calculating the Calorific Value, Compressibility Factor, and Relative Density of Gas Fuels 1.1 This exercise covers the calculation of the calorific value, relative density, and compressibility factor of a natural gas mixture at base conditions (14.696 psia and 60°F (15.6°C)) based on compositional analysis program of. 2It works with all common types of utility gaseous fuels such as dry natural gas, reformed gas, oil gas (high and low Btu), propane-air, carburetor water gas, coke oven gas and tank gas, for For these fuels, suitable analytical methods described in Section 6 can be used. The calculation process of other basic conditions is given. 1.2 Values in imperial pounds shall be considered standard. SI units given in brackets are for reference only. 1.3 This standard is not intended to address all safety issues, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with the internationally recognized standardization principles established in the "Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guidelines and Recommendations" promulgated by the Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade of the World Trade Organization.
