- Scope
- This standard specifies the method of using a simply supported beam impact testing machine to apply an impact bending load to a hard plastic sample to destroy the sample, and use the energy absorbed per unit area when the sample is damaged to measure the impact toughness of the material. This standard applies to rigid thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics, including filled plastics and fiber-reinforced plastics, and articles of these plastics. This standard does not apply to rigid plastics.
