Scope
This standard specifies the rules for grading natural, unoptimized or heat-treated loose, faceted, ground and polished sapphires. This standard is applicable to the grading of natural non-optimized or heat-treated polished sapphires without facets. The grading of polished sapphires with inlaid facets can refer to this standard. This standard is applicable to the grading of blue sapphires, and the grading of sapphires of other colors can refer to this standard except for the color.
