Scope

This standard specifies the test method for determining the bending fatigue strength of involute spur gear teeth, so as to determine the basic data required for the bending load capacity of the gear. This standard is applicable to the test of tooth bending fatigue failure of involute spur gears made of steel and cast iron under load. The bending fatigue strength tests of other metal gears can be used as a reference.
