- This standard specifies the test methods for the insertion loss of optical fiber mechanically fixed connectors (hereinafter referred to as "fiber connectors") under several conditions of use. The specified fiber optic connectors are designed for single-channel and multi-channel, or mixed-channel, or both network structures. Based on this test, the insertion loss of the fiber optic splice is calculated. Can be used for quality assessment. This standard is applicable to the test of insertion loss of mechanically fixed connectors of optical fibers.
