- Scope
- This standard specifies the test method for determining the specific strength at break and elongation at break of cotton fibers by using cotton fiber bundles arranged in parallel. This standard applies to cotton fibers that can be made into tufts, and uses a tensile tester specially designed for testing flat-bundled cotton fibers (see Appendices A, B, and C). Other tensile testing machines can also use this method if they can be equipped with a Brinell specimen holder.
