Scope: This standard specifies the technical conditions for aviation jet lubricating oils which are base oils obtained by synthetically processing natural petroleum or soft wax cracking olefins and added with antioxidants. The products included in this standard shall be produced according to the raw materials and production processes used in the samples that have passed the national test run. The products included in this standard are applicable to specific types of aviation jet lubrication systems. The products in this standard are divided into two grades, 8A and 8B, according to different processing techniques. 8A is a product obtained by processing natural petroleum; 8B is a product obtained by synthetically processing soft wax cracking olefins.
