EN ISO 2143:2010 Anodizing of aluminium and its alloys - Estimation of loss of absorptive power of anodic oxidation coatings after sealing - Dye-spot test with prior acid treatment (ISO 2143:2010)
This International Standard specifies a method for estimating the colorability of densified anodically produced oxide layers by the paint drop test with prior acid treatment. The process is suitable for production monitoring and can be applied to anodically produced oxide layers that are exposed to weathering or aggressive environmental influences or where resistance to staining is important. The method is not applicable to layers produced: a) on alloys containing more than 2% copper or 4% silicon; b) were compressed in dichromate solutions; c) have undergone additional treatment, e.g. B. Oiling, waxing or painting; d) are colored in dark shades; e) have a layer thickness of less than 3 m. The process is less suitable if nickel or cobalt salts or organic additives have been added to the sealing bath.
