Scope
This part of ISO 9015 specifies the microhardness tests on cross sections of welded joints on metallic materials with large hardness gradients. It contains Vickers hardness tests according to ISO 6507-1 normally for test forces of 0.98 N to less than 49 N (HV 0.1 to less than HV 5). NOTE The test should be carried out in such a way as to ensure the determination of the maximum and/or minimum values of hardness both in the base material (in the case of different materials of both base materials) and in the weld metal. This part of ISO 9015 is not applicable to hardness tests of welds with loads of 49.03 N and above contained in ISO 9015-1. This part of ISO 9015 is not applicable to Vickers hardness tests of resistance spot, projection and roll seam welds contained in ISO 14271. This part of ISO 9015 is not applicable for hardness testing of very narrow welds, e.g. B. typically those that arise from laser or electron beam welding (see ISO 22826).
