- This standard is a general test method applicable to the comparison of the dispersibility of two similar pigments in a specified medium. The test result is expressed by the time required to reach the specified fineness in a special instrument or the fineness achieved after grinding for 30 minutes 1]. Note: When this general method is applicable to a specified pigment or pigment extender, it is only necessary to include the terms referring to this method in the product standard of the pigment or pigment extender, and indicate the changes required due to the characteristics of the product. Only when this general method is not applicable to a particular product should a specific method be specified for the comparison of ease of dispersibility.
