Scope
This standard specifies particle size analysis methods for particle size distribution measurement by analyzing the light scattering properties of particles in various two-phase systems, including powders, sprays, aerosols, suspensions, emulsions, and bubbles in liquids. This standard applies to the particle size distribution measurement of particles with a particle size range of 0.1 μm to 3 mm, and is applicable to the performance evaluation of related instruments. Using some specially designed instruments and some auxiliary conditions, the particle size distribution range can be extended to below 0.1 μm or above 3 mm. This technique assumes spherical particles in the optical model, so for non-spherical particles, the reported particle size distribution is based on matching the theoretical value of the volume sum of the scattering pattern of spherical particles with the measured scattering pattern value, and the particle size distribution results may be different from those based on The results obtained by other physical principles such as sedimentation and sieving are different.
