- This standard specifies the terms, definitions, basic parameters, instruments, samples and measurement methods of surface roughness of cold-rolled thin steel sheets (strips). This standard applies to the measurement of the surface roughness of cold-rolled thin steel sheets (strips) using centerline, continuous profile conversion contact instruments. It can also be used as a reference for measuring the surface roughness of other plates and machined parts.
