Scope
This standard specifies the testing methods for superhard tool material performance parameters (chemical composition, microstructure, impact toughness, thermal shock toughness, fracture toughness, friction properties, wear resistance, machinability, etc.). This standard is applicable to the performance parameter testing of polycrystalline diamond superhard tool materials and polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) superhard tool materials with binders in two categories: high CBN content and low CBN content.
