Scope
This standard specifies the qualification requirements for functional safety assessors and organizations of oil and gas pipeline safety instrumented systems, the management and responsibilities of assessment activities, the cycle and stages of performing functional safety assessment activities, the scope, process, basis and documentation requirements of assessment activities at each stage. This standard is applicable to the functional safety assessment of the safety instrumented system in the newly-built, reconstructed and expanded onshore long-distance oil and gas pipeline transmission and storage systems.
