- Scope
- This International Standard specifies the basics of transmission technology. The sonication technique can be used: to detect irregularities; to determine sound attenuation. The general principles required to apply ultrasonic testing to industrial products are listed in ISO 16810. The sonication technique is used to test flat products, e.g. B. sheets, used. Furthermore, it is z. B. used in tests: in which the shape, dimensions or orientation of possible irregularities are unfavorable for direct reflection; for materials with high sound attenuation; for thin products.
