This International Standard specifies various aging procedures intended to provide an indication of the changes that could occur when leather is exposed to a particular environmental condition over a long period of time. Over time, the surface color of leather and the leather itself change due to aging and the effects of the environment on the leather. The test conditions to be applied are determined by the type of leather and the intended use. This method can also be used to age test specimens for mass change testing according to ISO 17130.
