This International Standard specifies the test methods and recommended tools to be used for testing resistance point and hump welds in formwork and chisel tests. It applies to welded joints of two or more sheets in the thickness range from 0.5 mm to 3.0 mm. The aim of these tests is to determine: point diameter and type of fracture, if the test is carried out in a destructive manner; and confirmation of welding quality if the test is carried out as a non-destructive test. NOTE The preferred form test for roll welds (mechanized form test) is covered in ISO 14270.
