EN ISO 12010:2014 Water quality - Determination of short-chain polychlorinated alkanes (SCCPs) in water - Method using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and negative-ion chemical ionization (NCI)
This International Standard specifies a method for the quantitative determination of the sum of short-chain polychlorinated n-alkanes or short-chain polychlorinated paraffins (abbreviation: SCCP) with a carbon chain length between n-C10 up to and including n-C13 in mixtures with chlorine contents between 49% and 67% which include approximately 6300 of the approximately 8000 congeners. This method is suitable for determining the sum of SCCP in unfiltered surface water, groundwater, drinking water and wastewater using negative chemical ionization electron capture gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-ECNI-MS). The procedure can be used for samples with a content of 0.1 µg/l to 10 µg/l. Depending on the wastewater matrix, the lowest detectable concentration can be > 0.1 µg/l.
