This standard specifies the method for measuring the thermal electromotive force of precious metal thermocouple wire at the melting point of gold (1 064.18 ℃), palladium (1 554.8 ℃), and platinum (1 773 ℃) using the fuse method. This standard is suitable for measuring precious metal thermocouple wires with diameters in the range of 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm. The measurement of thermoelectromotive force of other sizes and thermocouple wires at the melting point of each pure metal can also be carried out with reference.
