This standard specifies the morphological characteristics, causes, rating principles, assessment methods and test reports of low-magnification structural defects in high-quality structural steel continuous casting billets. This standard is suitable for evaluating acid-etched low-magnification structural defects in the cross-section of continuous casting billets such as high-quality carbon structural steel, alloy structural steel, spring steel, etc. After negotiation between the supply and demand parties, it can also be used to evaluate continuous casting billets of other steel types. This standard is applicable to the size range of continuous casting billets: continuous casting square billets or rectangular billets with a side length of 100mm to 550mm, and continuous casting round billets with a diameter of 90mm to 1000mm (hereinafter referred to as continuous casting billets). Continuous casting billets of other sizes can be used as a reference.
