- This standard specifies the 5-chloro-2-(pyridylazo)-1,3-diaminobenzene spectrophotometric method for the determination of dissolved cobalt and total cobalt in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of cobalt in surface water, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage. When the sampling volume is 20.0 ml, the detection limit of the method is 0.009 mg/L, the lower limit of determination is 0.036 mg/L, and the upper limit of determination is 0.500 mg/L.
