Scope

This part of YY/T 0583 specifies the requirements for sterile supplied water-sealed disposable chest drainage devices (referred to as: drainage devices). This device can not only perform gravity drainage, but also can be connected with a negative pressure suction system to achieve suction and drainage. The requirements for autologous blood return systems on chest drainage catheters inserted into the patient's chest, dry seal chest drainage devices and chest drainage devices with autologous blood return systems are not included in the scope of this standard. Drainage devices intended for patient carriage do not apply to this section.
