This standard measures the returnability of thermoplastic pipes in the longitudinal direction and specifies two methods for measuring in liquid or air. In case of controversy, the liquid method shall be used as the standard method. This standard applies to all thermoplastic pipes with smooth inner and outer pipe walls of constant cross-section. It does not apply to thermoplastic pipes with non-smooth structural pipe walls (e.g. ring-shaped). Criteria for the maximum level of returnability as a function of the material from which the pipes are manufactured are given in Annex A.?
