1.1 This standard provides operational requirements and test methods for the operation of analog, sampled data, and digital implementations of bandpass filters consisting of filters or spectrum analyzers. The bandpass extension of the comparative attenuation characteristics of filters is a fixed percentage of the midband frequencies for all filters of a given bandwidth. Equipment meeting the requirements of this standard shall include any number of bandpass filters covering the required frequency range.1.2 The operating requirements are given in three classes, called Class 0, Class 1 and Class 2. The tolerance increases with increasing number of ranks. 1.3 Bandpass filters complying with the operating requirements of this standard are part of various measurement systems or integral components of special instruments and must operate in real time. The operating requirements shall be suitable for any method chosen by the manufacturer to meet the design of the filter. 1.4 Appliances conforming to the requirements of this standard may be, for example, time-varying, intermittent, steady-state, broadband and discrete frequencies, long and short duration. It can provide frequency-band filtered spectrum information for various signals such as For applications involving transient signals, different implementations of filters that meet the requirements of this standard may produce different results.
