This standard specifies specific test procedures to assist producers and users in selecting and measuring properties of thermoplastic films in single- or multi-layer form. This standard is intended as guidance for thermoplastic films for which there are no existing standards or specifications. If an international standard exists for a particular film product, the requirements of that standard shall take precedence over this standard. There are many national, regional and industry standards. Because this standard is intended to provide general guidance, such application-specific standards are not addressed in this standard. The significance of the data and its suitability for use must be determined by the user.
