This standard specifies four methods for measuring the surface area of specific grades and types of carbon black for use in the rubber industry:
——Method A using the Ni-Count-1 device (3.) - Method B using the Areameter device. Method (4.) - C method using gas chromatography (5.) - D method using Monosorb surface area analyzer (6.) Slightly different results may be derived through the four methods. The degassing procedure used will vary from method to method and it is important to investigate the possibility of correcting the results using a standard reference black. Additionally, results may differ from those derived using the multipoint method specified in ISO 18852. , this is also the preferred method.?
