Scope
1.1 This standard specifies requirements and sampling and extraction methods for the leaching of specific elements of antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, and selenium from parts of toys or toy materials. 1.2 Requirements provides for the leaching of certain elements listed in 1.1 from the following toy materials:  ——Paints, varnishes, lacquers, printing inks, polymer coatings and similar coatings (see 8.1) - Polymers and similar materials: with fibrous reinforcement other than fibres. Polymers and similar materials used (see 8.2) - Paper and cardboard up to 400 g/m2 (see 8.3) - Natural and synthetic fibers (see 8.4) - Glass/ceramic/metallic materials, solder used for electrical circuit connections Excluded materials (see 8.5) - Other materials, colored or unpigmented (e.g. wood, fibreboard, hardboard, corrugation, leather) (see 8.6) - Materials that leave marks (e.g. pencil lead and liquid ink in pens) ) (see 8.7) - flexible modeling materials, including modeling clays and gels (see 8.8) - paints, varnishes, lacquers, glaze powders, including pigments and similar substances in solid or liquid form (see 8.9) )1.3 This standard applies to the following toys and toy parts and toy materials (see C.2.1):  ——Toys and cosmetic products intended for contact with food or mouth, regardless of age of use or age recommended on the label.
