Scope
This standard is used to assess human exposure through ingestion of soil and soil materials. This standard is used to assess human gastric dissolution rates/bioavailability of metals from contaminated soil in conjunction with exposure assessments related to oral ingestion in humans. Provides guidance for use in selecting a test procedure based on these guidelines. Although these guidelines are intended to be used with as many general methodological factors as possible, it is important to select a method based on the needs of the particular investigation. Methods and contexts validated for specific metals are highlighted.
