This standard specifies the compressive strength measurement method and loading test method of transport packaged cargo using the same test device. This test method can be used to evaluate the strength of the package and the protective performance of the contents under compressive load. Additionally, this test method can be performed as a single test to investigate the effects (deformation, collapse, damage) of compressive or loading loads, and is part of several tests that evaluate the performance of packaging in a distribution system that includes compression or loading. It can be used as a loading test to evaluate the performance of the packaging under specific conditions where the packaged cargo is loaded on a flat pallet.
