This standard addresses specific safety requirements for products that have the function of an inverter or that function as an inverter in addition to other functions, as well as DC/AC inverter products and other products that perform inverter functions used for solar power systems. .The inverters covered by this standard are grid-connected, stand-alone, or multi-mode inverters, and can be fed from a single or multiple array of solar power modules, and can be used with batteries or other forms of energy storage. .Inverters with multiple functions or modes must be assessed against all applicable requirements for each of these functions and modes. This standard does not present grid interconnection requirements for grid-tied inverters.
