Together with KS C IEC 61851-1, this standard sets requirements for conductive alternating current charging equipment for electric vehicles up to 1 000 V according to IEC 60038. This standard covers assemblies with general-purpose socket-outlets that can be used for charging electric vehicles. This standard does not cover all safety issues related to maintenance. This standard also applies to integrated cable control boxes (ICCBs) used in mode 2. Charging equipment covered by this standard does not cover flammable gases or vapors. and/or in hazardous areas containing combustible materials, fuel or other flammable or explosive materials. For applications in these areas, additional requirements may apply. This standard does not apply to on-board devices in KS C IEC 61851-21. This standard applies to power supplies and electrical devices and components used inside ICCBs. However, the electrical devices and parts used internally are regulated by other standards.
