Scope

This standard specifies the wear test method using an inertial dynamometer for brake linings and pads used in commercial brakes of automobiles. It does not apply to special automobiles and motorcycles, and in the case of connected vehicles, the total vehicle weight when nominally connected ( GCW) exceeding 40 tons is excluded.
