Scope

This standard specifies the liquid chromatography method for determination of formaldehyde content in food simulants. This standard applies to 7 types of food simulants in food contact materials: water, 3% acetic acid, 4% acetic acid, 10% ethanol, 20% ethanol, 50% ethanol and formaldehyde in vegetable oil simulants [including hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) converted formaldehyde] migration determination.
