Scope

This standard stipulates the determination of the total surface area by the multi-point method of Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET NSA) multi-molecular layer adsorption theory, and the determination of the external area by the method of statistical adsorption layer thickness surface area. This standard applies to rubber carbon black, pigment carbon black, acetylene carbon black and precipitated hydrated silica (white carbon black).
