Scope

This standard specifies a method for evaluating the resistance of dry films of paints, varnishes or related products to cracking or peeling from the substrate when damaged by a dropping weight dropped on a small-area spherical indenter under standard conditions. This test method Because of low reproducibility, numerical results should only be tested in one laboratory. Agreement between laboratories is better when grades are used instead of numbers.
